Growing up in the NT, the artist heard countless stories of the Rainbow Serpent as a young child running through the community. Cautionary tales, and awe-inspiring feats of one of the great ancestral beings of the Dreaming. At the time she painted this; she was living down south away from family and all the comforts of home. She was feeling very culturally disconnected and the process of creating this painting was therapeutic and powerful.
